Yak's Garden Party: A Lesson in
Promotes: Self-Acceptance
Caterpillar, beetle, and dragonfly appear in our new book “yak’s garden party.” yak is hosting a party for her friends, but plans quickly go awry. Families can use this book as a lesson in flexibility, turn-taking, and being kind to ourselves when things don’t turn out the way we expected.
It’s very common for children (and adults!) to have an idea of how they want plans to go, especially on big events or holidays. When the agenda isn’t being followed, or when friends have different ideas for the day, it can be challenging for kids to be flexible and problem-solve when they’re feeling disappointed.
Our therapists and educators wrote this this story to inspire more resilience in children and more empathy in parents.
